Silverfish are primarily a nuisance pest but they can cause damage to books, wallpaper, carpeting and clothing. They prefer dark, warm, moist areas such as attics, closets, baseboards and around bathroom fixtures. They tend to feed on carbohydrates and proteins contained in starch, paper, drywall and natural fiber clothing.
Cockroaches
Cockroaches are one of the most adaptable and successful insects. They can infest any type of structure from homes to commercial establishments. While cockroaches are mostly a nuisance, they are capable of carrying disease-spreading pathogens and have been shown to cause allergic reactions and contribute to asthma problems.
Sow bugs & Pill bugs
Sowbugs and pillbugs are actually crustaceans, not insects. They are typically found in moist areas outside but occasionally make their way indoors. They have seven pairs of legs, an oval shape and are gray in color. Their back consists of a number of overlapping, articulating plates. They will typically not survive the dry environment inside most buildings so are therefore considered a nuisance pest. Pillbugs differ from sow bugs in that they curl up into a ball when disturbed.
